Many local churches, charities, schools and enterprises find it difficult to move beyond “needs-based”, service provision approaches, and as a result, don’t get to see the joy of their local communities thriving as they are intended to.

Seedbeds equips local people and places to discover, connect and release their unique potential together from the inside out.

Seedbeds began with local community leadership development in Winson Green, Brimingham UK, but has always had a global vision to grow local leaders and communities into fullness of life where ever they live. We now have new Seedbeds entities and programmes emerging in UK, Australia, Myanmar and Ukraine as well as potential for more if the ‘No Wastelands’ book finds traction. We therefore needed to give extra attention to Seedbeds global connections together, but also encourage local experimentation and contextualisation.

Our challenge then is not creating new opportunities, but growing and multiplying capacities. A key strategy for us will be ‘Seedbeds Equippers’ to resource and recognise new Seedbeds trainers, coaches and panelists.

Seedbeds Equippers activities include:

1. Supporting new Seedbeds members (that is, national or regional Seedbeds entities) to pilot their first programmes and feel connected into the broader Seedbeds movement. This includes setting up branding and resourcing agreements.

2. Offering training for:

  • Seedbeds Train the Trainers: Become equipped to lead Seedbeds local community leadership programmes in your networks.
  • Seedbeds Coach the Coaches: Become equipped to coach local community leaders as they discover, incubate and prepare their unique pitch to a resource panel.
  • Seedbeds Prepare the Panelists: Become equipped to invest in local community leaders and their dreams as a panelist who can offer constructive comments, cash grants, connections and coaching.

4. Connecting Seedbeds members into networks of Seedbeds Trainers, Coaches and Panelists as a way to share and offer peer support and find ways to learn and grow into greater effectiveness. This includes: Facebook Groups, Google Classroom or other online Groups.

5. Be available as an initial trouble shooter to Seedbeds entities if things go wrong and can’t be resolved from within their own Seedbeds entity or Seedbeds Equipping networks.

Seedbeds Equippers aims to see:

1

Seedbeds members, trainers, coaches and panelists feeling connected and free to offer effective Seedbeds programmes.

2

Training, approving, networking and releasing Seedbeds Trainers, Coaches and Panelists to run effective Seedbeds programmes.

3

Seedbeds entities valuing the broader Seedbeds movement enough to reach out to offer and receive support from other trainers, coaches and panelists.

4

Seedbeds members know there is a person to contact if they get stuck or face a problem they cant resolve from within their Seedbeds entity.
