Immersive Leadership Programmes
Meeting and sharing life with people of different faiths, economic and cultural backgrounds and reflecting theologically with experienced urban Christian leaders helps deepen more compassionate community practices. Churches, denominations, mission agencies and education institutions have set up immersion programmes with us over the years and it has helped change the direction of lives and ministries. These are offered and designed to meet to your unique needs as participants for a day, a week-end or some cases up to 10 day programmes. Could you or your group grow through an immersion programme?
Winson Green Immersions
Immersion programmes in Winson Green, Birmingham can help your group nurture hope for what is possible and connect more deeply in seeking God’s dream for your community.
We don’t have all the answers or know what you need in your ministry, but we can help spark your prophetic imagination. Winson Green is special place with special people and offers a fascinating model to see and experience what is possible in complex, urban contexts. Led by experienced urban leaders Ash and Anji Barker from their community home at Newbigin House with their neighbours, your group could explore challenges such as place-making, community formation, asset-based community development, community organising, starting new congregations and developing local leaders. For the last five years groups from such diverse groups from around the world (including the Church of England, Baptist and Nazarene denominations, Church Mission Society, Operation Mobilisation and Cincinnati Christian University) have set up tailor-made immersion courses with us in Winson Green that have helped shape the lives and ministries of participants.

Live-in experiences in Klong Toey slum has changed the direction of lives. With Ash and Anji Barker’s previous experiences in Bangkok, from time to time a live-in experience hosted by our Thai partners is possible. The need for investors in social businesses has meant that short live-in experiences with a participant have been mutually beneficial learning experiences and exchanges. Generally these are held over 7-10 days in February or July.
